Julian Knights
Julian has more than 30 years experience in the Financial Services industry, having held a number of senior roles in investment banking and funds management. He is a founding Partner of leading Australasian private equity group Ironbridge Capital and a Director of Pacific Road Capital Management, a specialist global mining fund. He served on the Council of AVCAL (Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association) for four terms and was elected Chairman in 2008
He has served on numerous company boards and is currently a director of leading New Zealand waste group Envirowaste Services amongst other roles
Julian and his wife Lizanne are patrons of a number of Arts Companies. He served on the board of the leading Australian contemporary dance group Sydney Dance Company from 2006 to 2013 and was Chairman from 2007 to 2013. This proved to be a time of major change for SDC and Julian steered the company through a change in artistic leadership, board renewal and growth in philanthropic support. He was a board member of AMPAG (Australian Major Performing Arts Group) from 2011 to 2013 and was chosen for the study Tour to New York in 2012, attended by Chairs and CEOs of Major Arts Companies.
Julian holds Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Higher Diploma in Company Law from the same institution.
