Research and strategic analysis
The Australia Council’s research and strategic analysis program focuses on leading the sector, providing evidence for cultural policy development and disseminating information about the arts in Australia.
We also provide information, financial support and training for business capacity in arts organisations. We do this through the following programs:
Deliver productive research outcomes around five key areas for the arts in Australia—the economic performance of the arts, public consumption and participation in the arts, private sector support for the arts, and the impact of digital technologies on the arts.
Improve our approach to evaluation, data and evidence gathering, and use that knowledge more effectively to enhance our practices for disclosure, transparency and reporting on the impact and outcomes of grants, initiatives and services.
Research centre and hub
The Australia Council manages a unique collection of arts industry journals and other resources both in a library and in the Research Hub, an online research resource. These are supported by the expertise of the Australia Council’s library staff. Visit Research hub webpages for more information
Business capacity building
Support arts organisations to address business challenges and to improve their capabilities through the delivery of professional development opportunities to their staff. The focus is business analysis, research and development and the design of long term strategies to assist in business development.
