The Australia Council arts in a multicultural Australia strategy (2006-09) aims to ensure Australia’s dynamic cultural life and practices are embraced, celebrated and created by the diversity of our cultures.

The strategy aims to:

Support the development of creative content that reflects a multicultural Australia.
Increase culturally inclusive leadership.

Kultour – a national and international touring consortium.
A $200,000 program per annum, aiming to increase the promotion & presentations by three multicultural and multi-artform organisations.
ARC Linkage Research into engagement with and impact on artists and communities from culturally diverse backgrounds.
The Muliticultural Arts Professional Development arts leadership and development program.

Explore the possibility of a national flagship arts organisation for cultural diversity which will focus national and international attention to critical acclaim and build on the successful developments in artistic practices that explore multicultural Australia.
Explore the possibility of the establishment of a national multicultural arts advocacy network which will enable stronger advocacy for multicultural artists, organisations and communities.
