The Dance Board welcomes two new members

25 August 2011

The Australia Council Dance Board is delighted to welcome two new appointments.

Joining the Board is Sydney Theatre Company's Matthew Morse and performing arts consultant Sandra Collins. Both appointees bring with them a wealth of experience and knowledge of the dance community in Australia and abroad. We welcome the contribution these new members will provide to the Board in the future.

Matthew Morse

Matthew is the Cultural Development Manager at Sydney Theatre Company. Matthew’s previous roles include Cultural Development Manager of the Australian Ballet and General Manager of Melbourne based contemporary dance company BalletLab. Matthew has also been a board member of BalletLab and Ausdance Victoria, and was Chair of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.

Sandra Collins

Sandra began her career in media, sales and marketing holding key positions for major Australia networks. Travelling through Europe she worked in the finance sector, managing a visual artist co-op. Upon returning to Australia, she began work as an actress of stage, TV and film. She has taught drama at the Australian Theatre for Young People, Brent Street and the Sydney Acting School. Sandra then worked as Business Manager at Bangarra Dance Theatre for nine years, developing the company’s national and international portfolio. Sandra was also responsible for the management of the inaugural NSW Aboriginal Dance Forum in 2011 and is currently working as a consultant in the performing arts sector.
