Sandra Parker receives Two Year Dance Fellowship
13 April 2012
Choreographer, Sandra Parker has received the Australia Council Dance Board’s Two Year Fellowship. The Dance Board awards one Fellowship annually to an established artist who has an outstanding record of achievement.
Sandra Parker’s work has expanded the realm of cross-art form collaboration, creating intimate and detailed works for audiences in Australia and internationally. As the Artistic Director of Dance Works, and now as the Director/Choreographer of Sandra Parker Dance, her work has been presented in Australia, France, Portugal, Germany, China and the US.
The focus of the Fellowship is on the research and development of a dance installation practice from the perspective of a choreographer. Sandra will develop new creative material and artistic networks, the outcomes of which will be shared nationally and internationally through showings of work-in-progress, discussion forums and documentation at: Dancehouse (Melbourne), Critical Path (Sydney), LaborGras (Berlin), the Centre for Performance Research (New York) and The Forsythe Company.
The Dance Board welcomes fellowship applications from established artists and the next closing date is 15 August 2012. From this year the Dance Board is offering greater flexibility with fellowship available for one or two years.
