Shaun Parker & Company play Sadler's Wells
15 September 2011
Acclaimed Sydney-based choreographer Shaun Parker will tour his latest work, Happy as Larry, to the UK this September.
Parker’s company of ten will perform at Sadler’s Wells Peacock Theatre on London’s West End, The Brighton Dome, Oxford Playhouse and seven other premier performing arts venues across the UK.
Happy as Larry is a work about the elusive nature of happiness. Commissioned through the Major Festivals Initiative, it premiered with sold out seasons at the 2010 Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and New Zealand International Arts Festivals, followed by a season at Melbourne’s Dance Massive in early 2011.
The Dance board has supported multiple stages of development and presentations of Happy as Larry, with an investment of $106,095. Arts Development has invested a further $49,950 to support the international touring of the work.
