Melbourne Writers Festival goes digital

In partnership with the Australia Council, the Melbourne Writers Festival (21 – 30 August) will feature a day of discussion and debate on the impact of new technology on the publishing industry. A range of industry experts from the USA and across Australia will bring publishers up-to-date on issues of digital workflow, viral marketing and rights management. Digital guru Bob Stein, from the New York Institute for the Future of the Book will join with Australian experts in the field, including Elizabeth Weiss, Academic and Digital Publishing Director at Allen & Unwin, and Victoria Nash, Head of Macmillan Digital. This program is part of the Literature Board’s continuing support to Australian publishers as they keep pace with international developments in the new media.
