August assessment results

The Music Board of the Australia Council for the Arts is pleased to announce the funding results of its August assessment meeting.

Among the grant recipients were Mitzi, a four piece indie disco band who will undertake a national tour in support of their upcoming single Care Too Much.

Mizi are Dominiqe Bird, Jad Lee, Charles Murdoch and Cale Suesskow, a Brisbane four piece who mold disco beats, guitar, laid back vocals, and a classic pop sensibility into their own sound. They released their debut EP All I Heard through the Future Classics label in 2010 and received NME coverage, Triple J airplay and tour supports with the likes of Bag Raiders, Tensnake, The Swiss, Foster The People (USA), Neon Indian (USA), Little Dragon (Sweden) and Metronomy (UK), as well as playing Parklife and Stereosonic festivals. With the support of the Presentation and Promotion grant Mitzi will take their sounds to new audiences through a headlining national tour taking in major cities Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
