Community partnerships

The Australia Council supports community arts and cultural development through all our sections, primarily the community partnerships section.

In 2006-07, we invested $5.1 million in community partnerships grants. This support takes the form of grants to individual artists, financial and operational support to community arts and community organisations, support for key producer companies and community partnership support services, and strategic initiatives to build capacity across the sector.

Community partnerships priority areas

The community partnerships committee has identified a number of priority areas, which all applications must address. These include regional Australia, disability, young people, cultural diversity, emerging communities, Indigenous people, remote Indigenous communities, and specific social and cultural issues.
