Tony has applied for numerous Australia Council grants over the last 10 years. Born in Malaysia, he is an accomplished dancer, director, choreographer and visual artist. Tony was awarded a dance fellowship in 2008, a two-year program to develop and produce a major solo work, The Buddha Body Series.
His company, Tony Yap Company, for the first time received funding in the Key organisation – emerging category. Auspiced by Multicultural Arts Victoria, he sees this partnership as highly successful, allowing him to focus on his strengths.
