Charlotte Wood is a writer who has applied for five Australia Council grants since 2000. Her first application was successful; however two subsequent applications were unsuccessful.
She is the author of The Children, The Submerged Cathedral and Pieces of a Girl.
She began writing her first novel, Pieces of a Girl, in the mid 1990s, and it was published in 1999. The Submerged Cathedral was shortlisted for Australia's most prestigious fiction prize, the Miles Franklin Award, in 2005.
She lives in Sydney with her husband Sean.
