With a large range of benefits, Business cluster funding encourages feasibility and formation through to operational and strategic ongoing sustainability. These cluster structures typically include many organisation such as private companies, Government and other public institutions and not-for-profit organisations which share a mutual goal to address a significant economic issue.

Established Aboriginal businesses can access a free business review consultancy delivered by a Department-approved consultant. The Business review assesses the current stage of the business activity and advises on how to build an enterprise. Financial assistance of up to $2,500 for a fully-funded Business review is available.

An independent market visit is a service available under the NSW Government’s New export opportunities program. It provides financial assistance to export-ready companies by offsetting some of the costs of visiting a new overseas market to expand sales.

As part of the program, regular Travelling expert tours are held in regional centres and towns. The tours brief small and medium-size firms on current business issues and trends so they are better prepared to take up new opportunities.

Regional export adviser network

The export advisers are available to give hands-on advice and to encourage and assist companies based in regional NSW to take full advantage of international market opportunities. They draw on the Department and the collaborative resources of Austrade, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and other export service providers to advise regional businesses on market opportunities, planning for export, market entry strategies and related issues.

Hunter Business Centre
The Hunter Business Centre operates a small business incubator providing flexible and competitively priced office space. The incubator is provided to assist new and existing small businesses to grow and attain long-term commercial viability. Additionally, the incubator provides a supportive environment with business management assistance, shared resources along with full IT capabilities for each tenant. Our offices are leased on a monthly basis, there are no long-term obligations, with simple licence arrangements and no legal fees.
