Mentoring for growth assists businesses that are in rapid growth phase or have a high potential for rapid growth to achieve their commercial potential by surrounding them with experienced industry champions (mentors) who can challenge commercial assumptions and offer options that may overcome potential challenges or increase commercial opportunities.

Young artists mentoring program

Youth Arts Queensland

The Young artists mentoring program (YAMP) is about establishing partnerships between young and experienced artists or artsworkers. Participants usually live in the same region of Queensland, and try to meet, or communicate about their creative work in some way, every couple of weeks. Mentoring is a partnership where both parties can benefit from sharing knowledge, industry networks, ideas and experience.

This program supports young and emerging Brisbane artists aged between 17 and 30 to develop their careers by:

  • participating in national or international training
  • joining development programs

Creative sparks

Brisbane City Council

The Creative sparks program is a joint initiative of Brisbane City Council and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.

The program:

  • supports creative projects that enrich Brisbane's communities
  • develops the professional practice of local artists and cultural workers

There are three categories of funding:

  • creative projects that enrich Brisbane’s communities
  • new projects promoting professional development
  • arts business partnerships

Business resource guide

Caboolture Shire Council

The Business resource guide is a valuable tool issued by Council to assist business in their research phase of business planning. The six-page guide details the sources of a wide range of information that can be easily accessed by business. These range from published statistics and other economic data to comprehensive reports and documents that offer a valuable insight into future planning directions and investment opportunities.

Office of Economic Development - Ipswich

Ipswich City Council

Ipswich City Council's Office of Economic Development is supporting business development and job creation in the Ipswich region through the following activities:

  • assisting existing local business operations and growth
