Creative Australia Artists Grants
In May 2011 the Minister for the Arts, the Hon Simon Crean, announced the Creative Australia Artists Grants program, a new initiative to support artists to create and present new Australian work across all artforms. This five year, $10 million program provides funding for artists, including young and emerging artists, and will support more than 150 additional artistic works, presentations and fellowships for outstanding artists working across all artforms.
The Australia Council for the Arts will implement this program over the coming five years, with a number of funding initiatives commencing this year. Grants will be provided in the following categories:
New Work:
Grants of up to $80,000 per annum for new artistic works in new media, visual arts, performing arts, literature and music;
Presentations
Grants of up to $50,000 per annum for additional presentations of work in all artforms to Australian Audiences, including communities outside the major metropolitan areas;
Fellowships
Fellowships for established artists valued at $100,000: and
Fellowships for young and emerging artists valued at $60,000.
Creative Australia Artist grants will be available from the following areas of the Australia Council as follows:
