About this grant
Fellowship grants provide individuals who have an outstanding record in dance with the financial support to undertake creative or professional development. This may include strengthening their current practice, seeking new challenges or testing a new creative direction.
Assessment criteria
Applications will be assessed according to the following selection criteria:
- Artistic innovation with a creative rationale
- Artistic or professional skills appropriate to the activity
- The benefit of the activity
- Audience development potential
- Good planning and effective use of resources
- Contribution to the cultural diversity of Australian dance (elective criterion).
Eligibility
- Applicants must meet the general eligibility criteria.
- Applicants must supply three letters in support of the artistic intentions in the proposed fellowship program.
- If you received a fellowship from any board after 1995, you are not eligible to apply to this category again.
- Recipients of a dance board fellowship are not eligible to make applications to any dance board categories for activity occurring during their fellowship.
- As a fellowship recipient you must not undertake work that prevents you from fulfilling the terms of your fellowship.
What should you submit?
You must submit the required support material in addition to the application form.
Important information
Payments for fellowship grants are made in three installments over the two-year period. From 1 January 2008, all fellowship recipients will be required to submit interim reports at the end of the first year. On acceptance, another installment will be paid less an amount of $10,000 that will be paid when a final acquittal report has been submitted and approved at the end of the two-year period.
