Fellowships - music

Fellowship grants provide artists with financial support for two years for creative work and/or professional development.

Fellowship applications are invited from artists with a record of outstanding achievement and who are well established in their field.

$45,000 per year for two years.

This category is open to individuals only. To be eligible, you must meet the general eligibility requirements.

Applications will be selected that best demonstrate:

Outstanding professional achievement
The potential of the proposal to contribute to both the artist’s professional development and music practice in Australia
Good planning and effective use of resources.

You must submit the required support material in addition to the application form.

Fellowships are granted only once in an artist’s lifetime
Fellowship recipients may apply for funding from other categories during the term of the fellowship, with the exception of the project fellowship category
Fellowship recipients may not apply for a project fellowship where the start date of the project fellowship is less than five years after the end date of their fellowship
Fellowship recipients must not undertake any work that prevents them from fulfilling the terms of their fellowship.
Payments for fellowship grants are made in three installments over the two-year period. From 1 January 2008, all fellowship recipients will be required to submit interim reports at the end of the first year. On acceptance, another installment will be paid less an amount of $10,000 that will be paid when a final acquittal report has been submitted and approved at the end of the two-year period.
