Fellowships - visual arts
Fellowship grants provide extended support to craftspeople, designers, media artists and visual artists of outstanding ability to enable them to realise ambitious projects and develop their practice to new levels of achievement.

Amount
$45,000 per year for two years.
Who is eligible to apply?
This category is open to individuals. To be eligible, you must meet the general eligibility requirements.
Applicants may only submit one application to the new work, skills and arts development or fellowship categories in 2008.
How often can you apply?
The following buffer periods apply:
- Fellowship recipients may not apply to this category again
- Recipients of new work or skills and arts development grants in 2007 cannot apply to this category in 2008
- Fellowship recipients in 2008 may not apply for another grant until 2012.
What are the selection criteria?
Applications will be selected that best demonstrate:
- Outstanding professional achievement
- The artistic merit of the activities proposed for the fellowship period.
What should you submit?
You must submit the required support material in addition to the application form.
Important information
If you received a fellowship from any board after 1995, you are not eligible to apply to this category again.
Out-of-time applications will not be accepted to this category.
Payments for fellowship grants are made in three installments over the two-year period. From 1 January 2008, all fellowship recipients will be required to submit interim reports at the end of the first year. On acceptance, another installment will be paid less an amount of $10,000 that will be paid when a final acquittal report has been submitted and approved at the end of the two-year period.
