New work - dance

New work grants support the research, creative development, production, remounting, touring or presentation of dance works by artists or organisations.

Projects may start: 1 March 2009

Description

New work grants aim to encourage artists to take the time to develop a work over the course of its life cycle, and can be used for one or more development stages of the one work.

Individual artists, companies and other organisations are welcome to apply. Applicants must meet the general eligibility requirements.

Assessment criteria

Applications will be assessed according to the following selection criteria:

Artistic innovation with a creative rationale
Artistic or professional skills appropriate to the activity
The benefit of the activity
Audience development potential
Good planning and effective use of resources
Contribution to the cultural diversity of Australian dance (elective criterion).
