Partnership development (category A) - community partnerships

Partnership development  (category A) grants provide funding of up to $5,000 to assist artists, groups, or organisations to undertake further development and/or extension of effective partnerships.

Closing date: No closing dates, applications will be accepted at any time from 1 February to 1 September 2008
Decisions advised: Within eight weeks of receipt of applications
Projects may start: two weeks after official notification

About this category

This category supports development of cross-sectoral partnerships to achieve community arts and cultural development projects in the future. It does not support professional development, presentation and promotion, or project production.

Who is eligible to apply?

Only applicants who have discussed their proposal with community partnerships staff are eligible to apply.

This category is open to individuals, groups and organisations. Applicants must meet the general eligibility criteria.

Organisations currently in receipt of Australia Council multi-year or annual funding and individuals currently in receipt of an Australia Council fellowship may not apply to this category.

An applicant may only submit one proposal to the partnership development category in 2008.

What are the selection criteria?

Applications will be selected that best demonstrate:

• Potential for the proposal to engage a range of cross-sectoral partners and lead to a significant and achievable project/s
• Clear community arts and cultural development objectives for the proposed partnership/s
• Capacity of the arts workers involved and their ability to address one or more of the community partnerships priority areas. These include regional Australia, disability, young people, cultural diversity, emerging communities, Indigenous people, remote Indigenous communities, and specific social and cultural issues.

What should you submit?

You must submit the required support material in addition to the application form. Please note that community partnerships staff may directly contact partners/contributors to seek clarification or more details.

Important

In general, individuals and organisations may submit up to two applications to the Australia Council per calendar year. Individuals, groups and organisations in receipt of a partnership development grant may also apply to the Australia Council once in the same calendar year.
