Grant reporting

If you are an Australia Council grant recipient you will have agreed, in your signed contract, to provide us with a grant acquittal report at the conclusion of your funded activity.

Please read your funding agreement to check the acquittal material you are required to provide.

Your grant acquittal report accounts for the expenditure of the funds provided to you and the artistic outcomes of your funded activity.

Information drawn from grant acquittal reports is essential to the development work of the Australia Council. It helps us evaluate the achievements of funded activities, monitor the effectiveness of funding programs, and ensure our policy development is consistent with the experience of artists in the field. It also enables us to fulfill our obligation of accountability to the Federal Government.

If you don't provide a grant acquittal report, or if it's not satisfactory, you may not be eligible to apply for further funding or receive further payments.

The kind of grant acquittal reports that you need to complete depend on whether you have received

The type of grant acquittal report that you have to complete will depend on whether you have received a project grant (such as a new work, skills and arts development or other grant) or a program or multi-year grant.

If you are not sure what reports you need to submit as part of your acquittal, or what information you should record in your acquittal report, please contact the program officer listed at the top of the cover letter to your funding agreement.

Project grant recipients

All project grant recipients must submit an artistic grant report once their projects are completed. This grant report summarises the artistic outcomes of the project.

Many project grant recipients are also required to submit a financial grant report after completing their project. This financial grant report can be completed either by the grant recipient or by someone who administered the grant on their behalf. Recipients of fellowships, literature and visual arts new work grants or recipients of grants of less than $5000 do not generally need to complete a financial grant report.

You can now complete both artistic and financial grant reports through the Australia Council's grant reports online system. All you need to do is register, complete the online form and submit it. Your reports will then be reviewed and you will be notified by email once your grant has been successfully acquitted.

Alternatively, you can download a copy of either the combined artistic and financial grant report (MS Word, 434kb) or the artistic grant report (MS Word, 132kb).

Program and mulit-year grant recipients

Recipients of program grants and key organisations - multi-year grants are required to submit demographic information and quantative data by 30 April each year. You can submit demographic information by downloading the demographic information form as either a word document (31kb) or pdf document (31kb). You can submit quantative data using the Q-data online system or by downloading the quantative data report form (MS Excel, 46kb).

We seek your support in entering your data for Australia Council supported projects. The minimum data required for entry is: the name (title); the venue; the date; the production company; and the primary genre. When acquitting your grant, please take a few minutes to ensure that your project has been recorded for the database. Submit event information.
