The Australia Council mourns the passing of former major performing arts board member Ed Tweddell.
Dr Tweddell practised medicine and then worked in the pharmaceutical industry for many years, including eight years at FH Faulding and Company.
Dr Tweddell had considerable board experience at National Australia Bank, Ansell Limited, Australia Post, CSIRO, Adelaide Festival of Arts, and companies in the Nepenthe Group.
Jennifer Bott, chief executive officer of the Australia Council, said ‘Ed served on the major performing arts board from October 2000 to December 2002. This was a very important time for the board as the Major Performing Arts Inquiry was being implemented.’
‘Ed was a thoughtful, committed and serious contributor, and always operated with great integrity and rigour. We mourn his passing with respect and affection.’
