Dance catching the tour bug
25 August 2005
Australian dance companies and artists ready to take their show on the road can get a lift from the Australia Council.
They can apply for a profiling opportunity at North America's largest performing arts market, the Association of Performing Arts Presenters' (APAP) Conference, held in New York from 21 - 24 January 2006.
The Australia Council's annual promotion at APAP, Dance Down Under, features a select number of dance artists and companies with export-ready work and a demonstrated commitment to developing the US as a key target market.
In 2006 the Australia Council will also support delegates wishing to attend APAP. Dance companies and artists emerging on the US dance scene can apply for assistance through a new initiative, Waiting in the Wings.
