Donations to the Australia Council’s own arts programs develop excellence and appreciation for the arts in Australia.
Donations can be made to a separate operating account, the Australia Council Donations Fund, which is managed by the Australia Council's Donations Fund Committee. Donating to the Australia Council Donation Fund allows the Australia Council to receive tax-deductible donations to projects that enrich the lives of Australians and their communities.
Australian donors have used the Australia Council Donations Fund to support Australia's representation at the Venice Biennale and the landmark Australian Indigenous Art Commission at the Musee du Quai Branly in Paris.
The Australia Council encourages donations through the Australia Council Donations Fund for other Australia Council projects such as:
- fellowships for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, community cultural development, dance, literature, media arts, music, theatre and visual arts
- awards such as the Young Leaders Award and the Writers' Emeritus awards
- residencies for artists.
The Australia Council Donations Fund was established in accordance with the guidelines of the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts' Register of Cultural Organisations.
For more information about the Australia Council Donations Fund and bequests to the fund, contact Artsupport Australia director Louise Walsh.
