Coca-Cola Amatil and Coca-Cola Australia established the Coca-Cola Australia Foundation (CCAF) jointly in 2001 with the aim of 'making a difference to Australia's youth'.
The Foundation is committed to funding projects that are ambitious, innovative or unique in their approach to assisting Australia’s young people realise their potential.
The CCAF has previously supported the Australia Theatre for Young People (atyp) for more than 10 years, providing it with resources to run an education program in metropolitan and regional schools in NSW.
In 2004 Artsupport Australia facilitated a major three-year seed grant from CCAF for Beyond Empathy (BE) then a newly established not-for-profit organisation who were developing arts programs for at-risk young people in regional and rural Australia. BE made substantial progress with this first philanthropic partnership, which has led to Beyond Empathy accruing other partnerships and grow into a sustainable and robust organisation transforming regional and remote communities.
Coca-Cola Australia Foundation is now funding BE’s Pathways Project, using arts interventions, leadership and mentoring to break destructive cycles faced by young people experiencing hardship.
