Located in the heart of Mparntwe (Alice Springs), IAD Press is Australia’s oldest Indigenous publishing house and the most prolific publisher of Indigenous language dictionaries and learning resources.

IAD's work is guided by a mandate to preserve, maintain and promote Indigenous languages and storytelling. They actively support Indigenous writers of all ages and are recognised leaders in the management of Indigenous cultural and intellectual property.

IAD Press operates as a branch of the 40 year old Institute for Aboriginal Development. Under the guidance of an all-Aboriginal management committee, a team of six dedicated employees manage the business, edit, design, market and sell their products to a growing national and international customer base.

IAD's full catalogue encompasses a broad spectrum of topics, genres and award-winning titles. They publish Aboriginal history, biography, bush-knowledge, art, law and culture, fiction, poetry, children’s books, short story and essay anthologies, language and culture maps, art cards, and the renowned annual Jukurrpa Central Australian art and culture diaries and calendars.

IAD Press looks forward to creating new corporate partnerships that can help us to channel our special products into new markets.

IAD aim to maintain their identity as Australia’s leading publisher of Indigenous language and culture. At a time of unprecedented threat to Australia’s Indigenous languages, philanthropic support would allow IAD to expand into the production of audio and other digital language resources, and to design a new online delivery platform.

In keeping with IAD's commitment to Aboriginal development, they also seek partnerships to commence an Indigenous publishing trainee/mentoring program.
