Judy Buchan
Artsupport Australia's Victorian Manager, Judy Buchan, supporting the artists and arts organisations.
With a background in State and Federal politics, Judy brings to the role a depth of experience in marketing, communications, fundraising and management consulting.
Judy worked for the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) as Donor Manager and has contributed her fundraising skills to the National Gallery of Victoria Women's Association for over ten years as well as being involved with Sacred Heart Mission's fundraising activities for a similar length of time.
Prior to ACCA, Judy worked for Buchan Consulting in corporate communications and as a non-Executive Director while raising three children. Earlier roles included National Marketing and Communications Manager for CGU Insurance as well as researcher for the former federal member of Higgins, the late Roger Shipton and former leader of the Australian Democrats, the late Don Chipp.
Judy holds a Master of Management, a Bachelor of Arts (Politics and Fine Arts) and a Bachelor of Business. She sees her role as a "conduit for information" to build closer and sustaining relationships between the donor and the artist/arts organisation. "Every day I meet people in the cultural sector who are motivated by a driving passion for their projects, achieving amazing results with little resources. I also see this same passion and dedication in the philanthropic sector and if I can bridge the gap between the two and make enduring connections , then I believe Artsupport will be doing its job".
