Literature - February-March 2008
This report summarises the outcomes of the meeting of the Australia Council's literature board held on 28-30 April 2008.

Chair’s report
At our first meeting for the year, the literature board was proud to support a number of excellent writing projects under the write in your face initiative, which is aimed at young writers age 30 or under. This initiative supports writers to work innovatively with language and the creative process, with an emphasis on collaboration and multi-media projects.
The quality of proposals received this year was again very high and of the forty-five proposals under consideration, 14 of these were supported. The Board was especially pleased to support projects with a publication or performance outcome, in particular, Daniel Burt (Vic) to create Three Day Growth, a cross-platform comedy series for radio, TV, and the internet; Daniel Collins, Sam Twyford-Moore and Elena Williams for the anthology, The Best Australian Young Writers 2008; and the creation of the play, Anti-Clockwise by Aedan Whyatt, which seeks to challenge traditional theatrical presentation.
On behalf of the Board, I congratulate all successful applicants and wish you every success with your project.
Imre Salusinszky
