Community partnerships scoping study

Proposes directions for the support and development of creative communities.
The Community Partnerships Scoping Study has been a central platform in developing strategies for the Australia Council to increase opportunities for communities to engage with, and directly participate in arts and cultural development.
The resulting recommendations delivered by the Scoping Study Reference Group, in consultation with the broader community arts and cultural sectors, will assist the Australia Council in advancing the importance of arts and cultural development as part of everyday life.
The report was presented to the Council at its 1 June 2006 meeting and it unanimously and enthusiastically endorsed the report's recommendations and findings.
The Council recognised that the most innovative element of the report was the proposal for the Australia Council to develop and adopt a Creative Communities Strategy. This strategy will be adopted across the organisation and will help us realise our Arts Catalyst vision.
