Backing our creativity symposium proceedings

Proceedings of the Backing our creativity symposium, convened by the Australia Council for the Arts and held in Melbourne from 12-14 September 2005.

The symposium aimed to examine the critical role of creativity in education and to consider new ways to bridge the gaps between research, policy and practice in education and the arts in Australia. The 266 delegates that attended included artists, educators, researchers, policy makers and arts managers.

The symposium was a preparatory event for Building Creative Capacities for the 21st Century, UNESCO's World Conference on Arts Education, in Lisbon, 6-9 March 2006.
