Additional funding for small to medium performing arts organisations

A report providing an overview of the first year of the Australian Government funding increase for small to medium performing arts companies.

In its 2007-8 Budget, the Australian Government announced additional funding of $19.5 million over four years for the small to medium performing arts sector. The allocation for year 1 (2007-08) is $4.8 million.

As a result of decisions at the recent meetings of the theatre, music and dance Boards, the first year’s funding has been allocated as listed in the report.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts board will meet in October to resolve its portion of the new funding.
