Securing the Future: An assessment of progress 2001-2006

The Securing the Future update is an annual report which tracks Australia’s major performing arts’ (MPA) companies’ progress in the areas of artistic vibrancy, access and financial viability.

The measures used in the report are sourced from the 1999 Major Performing Arts Inquiry (MPAI), which was a seminal study of the state of the Australian MPA sector that resulted in the reform of the funding model for Australia’s MPA companies.

This year the Securing the Future Update has been expanded to include data and commentary on four other areas of MPAB companies’ activity: education, regional touring, international touring and artist development.
