About the Research Hub

The research hub is brought to you by the Australia Council for the Arts’ Research and Strategic Analysis team. 

The research hub was redeveloped in 2011 in response to key needs identified through a survey of our stakeholders. 

You can use the research hub to:

  • learn more about arts research planned or in progress across Australia through Arts RiPPA
  • subscribe to Art Smarts and stay up to date with current sector research, commentary and issues from Australia and overseas.

We encourage you to ask us a question, submit your own projects to Arts RiPPA and post a comment when you’d like to share your thoughts.  We hope that a one-stop-shop for arts research, that makes it easier for you to connect with people and ideas, will assist you in your work in the future.

    Hi At Country Arts SA, where i work, we are trying to find the most credible way to measure how our work supports artists with employment. Can you advise me as to the method the Australia Council uses - it is by counting the number of artists paid on a particular project/program or do you attempt to collect data on the number of hours artists and arts workers are employed? And is there a way of placing a dollar figure on that? Thanks in advance for any suport you can provide Cheers Anthony
