Research hub survey
The research hub survey was conducted in October 2010 to explore stakeholder needs and test ideas for future development.
Dr Nick Herd, Director of Research and Strategic Analysis, said:
‘Thank you to all those who responded to the survey. We appreciate you taking the time to tell us what you thought about our ideas for a research hub.
Over 350 people responded, which has given us a clear picture of where the needs and opportunities for arts research are. It is clear that the research hub is a very attractive proposition - 88% of respondents indicated that they were ‘interested’ or ‘very interested’ in the overall proposal.
The survey results have helped us to shape and prioritise key components for immediate development, but we’ll be continuing to work on the research hub, and welcome your feedback and suggestions. To ensure relevance and usefulness, we’ll be adding information in relation to priority topics identified in the survey results, such as arts participation and engagement, community development, impacts of the arts and cultural policy. We’ll also maintain our focus on Australian arts and cultural research to complement the existing networks and publications serving the arts sector.
We hope that a one-stop-shop for arts research, that makes it easier for you to connect with people and ideas, will assist you in your work in the future.
In pursuit of our goal of connecting people and ideas we will also plan to engage with the arts sector and researchers through face to face presentations, workshops and other events to further stimulate discussion and knowledge transfer.’
The results of the survey, including key findings and conclusions, are available below.
