Creative Rush

A joint project between the Australia Council for the Arts and Qantas is now bringing inspiring stories of Australians and the arts to the skies.

The Creative Rush series of short films are being screened on Qantas domestic morning flights, with longer versions of some being shown on off-peak domestic routes.

 

Reko Rennie

This most recent feature is about the experiences of renowned  graffiti-style artist and Kamilaroi man Reko Rennie during his three-month residency at the Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris.



Splendid

This recent film features Lauren Brincat, a Sydney-based artist currently working in Berlin.

 

Parkour

Ali is one of Australia’s leading exponents of Parkour, the French art of urban movement that combines elements of breakdancing, gymnastics and martial arts to overcome obstacles in the environment. He was the artist-in-residence at Western Sydney arts organisation ICE (Information and Cultural Exchange), where he ran Parkour workshops for local teenagers.

Outback Opera

The first film Outback Opera showed what happens when Oz Opera (Opera Australia’s regional touring arm) and their production of Madame Butterfly descend on Alice Springs.

Ballet Boys

Another of the films; Ballet Boys, was filmed in Perth during the Australian ballet’s tour of Swan Lake.
