About the opportunity

Expressions of Interest (EOI) are now open for BIGSOUND First Nations Market Readiness program.

Artist programmed to perform need only apply for this grant.

BIGSOUND is an annual music festival, conference and international marketplace, where the global industry gathers to do business and discover talent.

This program offers tailored support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists to attend this key event. Participants will better understand how the music industry works and explore how various strategies are used to showcase and promote their work.

The intention is for future First Nations leaders to better understand how they can take advantage of the opportunities BIGSOUND offers. Each participant will participate in workshops, hear from industry leaders and have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with tastemakers, buyers, agents and other musicians.

The Australia Council will help participants identify good practice, strengthen peer networks, encourage a rethink of current operations and generate new ideas that can be applied to their own work and communities.

The program will suit emerging to mid-career artists interested in building their skills in market and audience development, touring, promotion and community engagement.

The Australia Council will provide assistance to Artist participating in the program.
