Exchange Projects

The Australia Council’s exchange projects build on the Australian arts sector's already strong participation in the global arts landscape and enables reciprocal activity to be supported inside and outside Australia. Long term collaborations, reciprocal programs, partnerships, and support for cultural learning and exchange are not only high sector priorities but are vital to the long term success of international engagement by Australian artists and organisations.

The aims of Council’s exchange projects are to:

  • Build partnerships between the Australia Council and arts and cultural agencies in priority markets of Asia, Europe and North America.
  • Increase knowledge and expertise, and identify areas of common interest for the arts sector in Australia and abroad.
  • Enhance the intercultural capability of artists and arts organisations across art form areas.
  • Increase artistic and market development opportunities for artists and organisations.

Our exchange projects are delivered through partnerships with international arts and cultural agencies and organisations in Asia, Europe and North America. Partners include: the National Arts Council Singapore, Creative New Zealand, Canada Council for the Arts, Korea Arts Management Service and Musee du quai Branly in France.
