The Australia Council invests in international arts activity to support artistic, market and audience development through our grants and strategic projects. Our international development program recognises the strategic importance of long term engagement with the international arts community as key to the success of the Australian arts sector.
The program includes a range of activities from expert advice and network development, capacity development projects, artist residencies, and international exchange projects, to supporting delegations at international markets and fairs at home and abroad, and securing important presentation opportunities for Australian arts at key platforms, markets and events.
Council’s international development program provides both short and long term benefits to the artists involved by assisting them to fast track and achieve their international ambitions. The activity grows the international profile of Australian arts, and enriches our nation’s arts and cultural life, and contributes to the Council’s strategic goal that Australian arts are without borders.
