Arena Theatre Company

Arena Theatre Company produces inspiring live performances for young audiences, aged five to twenty five years.

Based in Melbourne, Arena creates theatre of varying scales for regional, national and international touring, from small in-schools touring productions, to large-scale, site-specific performances.

Arena believes that theatre for young audiences is not preparation for adulthood, a form of education, or a marginal version of theatre for adults. Theatre is a space where contemporary human experience can be uniquely expressed, felt, celebrated and reinvented. Arena engages in deep, rigorous and ongoing forms of engagement with young people in its investigation and celebration of the reality of its audiences in the here and now.

Arena Theatre Company is a Key Organisation of the Australia Council for the Arts’ Theatre Board.
