Founded in 1974 as a small community arts project for people with disabilities, Arts Access Victoria has established itself as one of Australia’s most experienced and respected arts and disability organisations.
Arts Access Victoria engages a wide range of recreational, emerging and professional artists including those with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities, people with an experience of mental illness, acquired brain injury, amputees and the Deaf community.
Arts Access Victoria’s work is about providing information, referrals and resources. It involves coordinating 25 contemporary arts projects including the Other Film Festival - Australia’s only disability film festival, the EASE Ticket Service and access training for arts and cultural sectors.
Arts Access Victoria has a statewide focus with programs in metro, outer-metro and regional Victoria. They contribute to sector development at a national level as the Victorian member of Arts Access Australia - the national network for arts and disability/disadvantage.
