Back to Back Theatre’s idiosyncratic voice and contemporary work defies convention, challenging logic and questioning the imperative to be ‘normal’.
Back to Back Theatre creates theatre with people who are perceived to have an intellectual disability. It is one of Australia’s leading creative voices, focusing on moral, philosophical and political questions about the value of individual lives.
Back to Back’s small metal objects won the 2007 ZKB Acknowledgment Prize at Zurich Theater Spektakel for “extraordinary artistic achievement” and premieres in North America at Under the Radar 2008.
Back to Back Theatre are a featured company at 2008's Association of Performing Arts Presenters conference (APAP).
