David Cornish

David Cornish is a South Australian illustrator and author for children and young adults.

His publishing work includes titles for Matthias Media, for which he won an illustration award in 1997, and cover illustrations for Omnibus Books including The Truth About Magic by Dave Luckett.

Grannysaurus Rex, by Tony Wilson is David’s first picture book for children, and he is also the illustrator of Lyn Lee’s Emily and the Dragon.

He is currently writing and illustrating a young adult fantasy series Monster Blood Tattoo for Ominbus/Scholastic. Book 1 of the series, Foundling, received an honour from the Children's Book Council Book of the Year Award, Book of the Year: Older Readers, 2007 and won the Aurealis Awards for Excellence in Australian Speculative Fiction, Young Adult Division, Novel, 2006.
