Pippin Drysdale
Inspired by the Australian landscape, Western Australian ceramicist, Pippin Drysdale creates unique works which are a result of her constant experimentation with colour, techniques and forms.
For twenty-five years Pippin has maintained a high profile, exhibiting nationally and internationally with over forty solo exhibitions and 300 group shows. Her recent solo shows include her first survey exhibition, held at the John Curtin University, Perth in 2007. To coincide with this exhibition, a monograph entitled Pippin Drysdale: Lines of Site, was published.
In 2004 and 2005 her work was presented at the Collect International Art Fair at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. Pippin’s work will also be presented at Collect 2008.

Her work is included in major public and corporate collections in Australia, including the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Gallery of Western Australia, the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, and Artbank. Internationally Pippin is represented in many European collections, foundations in the United States, museums in Japan and Korea, and the National Museum of Scotland and the National Museum of Ireland.
Pippin has received a number of grants from the Australia Council, including a two-year fellowship awarded in 2007.
During the fellowship period, Pippin will research and create ceramic works for solo exhibitions at Perth Galleries, Perth, in 2008 and Michael Reid Gallery, Sydney and Booker Lowe Gallery, Houston, USA in 2009. Pippin will develop a series of large-scale, site-specific installations, experimenting with closed forms that investigate the topography of the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
