Shopfront Contemporary Art Centre is a cultural network and co-operative where young people, regardless of background or ability can create themselves.

From its radical beginnings in 1976 as a not-for-profit cooperative theatre for young people the focus at Shopfront has been providing contemporary arts opportunities that engage and involve young people in relevant empowering ways.

In its long history Shopfront has created a multi-media interactive arts festival on the streets of Hurstville in (lost toy story), built A City of Shadow and Ice in Kogarah town square; created an aerial urban ghetto with an integrated cast of young people- with and without disabilities in Angels in the Architecture; trained with Y Space in Victoria and eRTH in NSW to create a three dimensional multi-media pop up book; played an instrumental role in the development of Errol Bray's seminal text on devising work - Playbuilding; created music, films, plays, musicals, art shows, installations, dance pieces, festivals, posters, magazines, and a multitude of performances.

Both at its multi-arts facility in south east Sydney and on-line Shopfront is a one stop creative haven where under 25's make new work and meaningful connections.
