Tracks

Based in Darwin, Tracks' vision is to give voice to Territory culture through dance and performing arts. Tracks has a local and national reputation for producing quality dance events that bring together professional, community and cultural dance in large-scale performances.

The events are rehearsed and performed in sites that are linked in important ways to the narrative of the performance. Tracks' creations come from extensive collaboration with artists, organisations and communities, sometimes over many years. Their priority groups are youth, Indigenous, seniors and non-english speaking background communities.

Co-artistic director David McMicken says, "We believe in the knowing that a community has, of itself, participants performing about what they know best. Our process involves diverse input at all levels."

Tracks is a key organisation of the Australia Council for the Arts' dance board.
