Artsupport Australia heading west

Artsupport Australia is pleased to announce Liesbeth Goedhart has been appointed WA manager.

Based on the successes of Artsupport Australia's NT manager, the WA manager will support philanthropic giving to the arts in Western Australia.

As the WA manager Liesbeth will mentor arts organisations and artists, helping them grow new income streams through donor programs and philanthropic grants. The WA manager will also assist Western Australian philanthropists and donors, researching and sourcing local beneficiaries in the arts.

Liesbeth brings to the Australia Council a wealth of experience in the arts and fundraising, most recently overseeing the campaign for the University of Western Australia's Berndt Museum and their world class collection of Aboriginal art and culture. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2005 Liesbeth was director of marketing, public affairs and development for the Perth International Arts Festival.

Liesbeth is based in Perth, with support from the WA Department of Culture and the Arts. Liesbeth commenced her position on January 28 and can be contacted at l.goedhart@australiacouncil.gov.au
