Chunky Move flying high

The Australia Council congratulates Chunky Move on receiving an Honourable Mention – Hybrid Art – in the Prix Ars Electronica for its work Mortal Engine.

The Prix Ars Electronica is widely regarding as the most important international award for creativity and pioneering spirit in the field of digital media. 

Mortal Engine is a work created by Chunky Move under the direction of artistic director Gideon Obarzanek, together with the creative team Frieder Weiss (interactive system fesign), Robin Fox (laser and sound artist), Ben Frost (composer) and Paula Levis (costume designer).

Mortal Engine was one of 97 award winners, selected from the 3017 entries received from 68 countries in 2009.  The company entered the awards for the first time this year and say they are thrilled to be acknowledged. 

Chunky Move is an Australia Council Key Organisation who have recently  been supported by the Australia Council's International Market Development Division to tour USA, Mexico and Canad in March- April 2009 and the UK, Germany and Spain in May- June 2009.
