International best practice in arts philanthropy
New international research on best practice in arts philanthropy reveals at the heart, it's still about relationships.
Published by Melissa E. Smith, as part of a Churchill Fellowship this new research hones in on the perspectives of visual and performing arts organisations in the United States and United Kingdom who have benefited from philanthropic giving.
This research follows the theory that while relationships are important, real success also requires a framework of professional practices to ensure one-off donations flourish into life-long partnerships.
Interviewing 84 individuals from 50 organisations, and focusing on 23 key arts organistions, Melissa's findings cover concerns including; where the next generation of donors will be coming from and how important investment at a board level is to growing philanthropic endeavours.
