Planex with Alexander Lotersztain - MMM

Planex is an Australian manufacturer who knows how to incorporate design into every level of its business practice.

Planex regularly collaborates with Alexander Lotersztain, one of Australia’s leading young designers. Alexander moved from Buenos Aires to Brisbane in 1998 where he completed a design degree. After graduating, he worked in Japan for a year, designing products for Sputnik and Idée.

Currently based in Brisbane, Alexander works on a range of design projects for companies in the United States, Italy and Australia. His work was recently featured in the Freestyle Exhibition and Phaidon’s Books & Folk publication.

The Australia Council awarded a Maker to Manufacturer to Market (MMM) grant to Planex and Alexander Lotersztain to support the creation of the X-System display shelves. The design and manufacture of the X-System comes hot on the heels of another collaboration between Planex and Lotersztain - The Wishbone Table, which has attracted a great deal of interest from Australian and international design communities.

The eco-friendly X-System will be made from 100% recycled materials designed to ensure quick, easy, non-polluting disposal once it reaches end-of-life.
