WA philanthropy incentive program

Artsupport Australia and the West Australian Department of Culture and the Arts' philanthropy incentive program is set to increase giving to the arts in Western Australia.

The newly developed program is encouraging individuals, groups and businesses to establish prescribed private funds, foundations or other charitable trusts in order to boost philanthropic giving to the arts.

The program allows the  West Australian Department of Culture and the Arts to make a contribution of up to 7.5 per cent of an eligable fund's initial capital to an arts organisation of the fund’s choice.

The  program allows eligable funds to cause a donation to an arts organisation by virtue of it being created.

This contribution is capped at $50,000 and will give due recognition to the fund.

To be eligible new funds must comply with certain criteria, which include that a fund be established with an initial capital contribution of $500,000 or more.

Expressions of interest are sought from individuals, groups or businesses who wish to take advantage of the opportunity and increase giving to the arts in Western Australia.
