Music Theatre Consultancy

The Executive Summary of a consultant’s report commissioned by the Music and Theatre Boards is now available at the Australia Council website at http://www.australiacouncil.gov.au/research/music/reports_and_publications/music_theatre_consultancy

The purpose of the consultancy, conducted by Justin Macdonnell of Anzarts Institute, was to propose potential models for the delivery of the initiative in years two and three.

The report surveys current practice and makes a number of recommendations, including that a range of partnerships be established with a small number of providers across the music theatre spectrum to deliver creative development services to individual artists and creative teams.

The Music and Theatre Boards have considered the report and are now investigating the specific partnership recommendations and expect to provide a further update on progress in early 2010.
